Young Women of Distinction

Young Women of Distinction

Young Women of Distinction, (YWOD) is an innovative program designed to develop African American and other student groups into successful leaders while promoting a way of life that exemplifies excellence. Young Women of Distinction empowers students by providing resources, establishing mentorship opportunities, and team-building projects to achieve personal and educational goals. Participants develop character-building skills, leadership skills, and life skills, while obtaining educational advancement for the future. Members are exposed to various educational and career options via college and corporate visits. YWOD members engage in school-wide and community activities, including volunteer opportunities that allow them to interact with diverse situations while making a difference in their communities. In addition, they focus on developing an entrepreneurial mindset to help them become productive members of society. Be a part of a growing sisterhood of excellent leaders! If you are interested in joining the Young Women of Distinction please email or stop by and see Ms. DeSaussure in Buliding 3.
